Living the Valdichiana Senese with your family: the territorial best proposals for adults and children

In southern Tuscany there’s a place that every year attracts travelers from all over the world: the Valdichiana Senese. Landscapes, flavors, art, culture, tradition and thermal waters: this and much more you can find in this terroir, to be lived also with your family. Let’s discover together the best ideas for adults and children to be experienced in the Valdichiana Senese.

Civic Museum of the Prehistory of Mount Cetona, Cetona

In Cetona, one of the most refined towns of the Valdichiana Senese, time seems to be frozen still. Perfect for history lovers, the Civic Museum of the Prehistory of Mount Cetona documents the different phases of the human settlement on the territory, from the Paleolithic to the Bronze Age. The Belverde Archeodrome makes the experience even funnier, with an educational path meant to reproduce settings, structures and artifacts either of the Bronze Age and Mid-Paleolithic. Finally, the Belverde Archeological – Natural Park completes the offer, with its travertine caverns, once inhabited by Neanderthal man.

Theia Thermal Pools, Chianciano Terme

Valdichiana Senese has always been known for the properties of its thermal waters. And in Chianciano Terme, one of the most symbolic places for this kind of offer, wellness is at your fingertips! From zero to twelve years old, the proposal is quite wide and extends from the simple non-thermal pools for the youngests, to a real little SPA for kids aged 6 up to 12 years old. And if that’s not enough, Theia thermal pools offer a special animation service every weekend, a perfect mix between relax and pure fun.

The “Underground city” Civic Museum, Chiusi

The Valdichiana Senese has its own special charm, and that’s the reason why Etruscans choose this land for the buildup of their civilization. And what’s the best place to discover the Etruscan history? Chiusi, of course! Here, in what was once the city if King Porsenna, the “Underground city” Civic Museum gifts everyone with unique emotions! After a first visit between the underground tunnels, the activities continue on the surface with workshops to entertain adults and children.

Pinacoteca Crociani Civic Museum, Montepulciano

Located in the hearth of Montepulciano, a stone’s throw away from Piazza Grande, the Pinacoteca Crociani Civic Museum encloses the past of the city. Etruscan findings, glazed terracottas and many other artworks can be found in the museum space, today with a new shape, after a recent readjustment that will be unveiled Saturday 22nd March in occasion of the museum’s reopening. And it’s right here that for some months a new service dedicated to children has been activated: Marzocchino, the little lion. Marzocchino is an exceptional tourist-guide meant to sensitize kids to art and its beauties through interactive experiences. What’s more? At the end of the visit, every child will receive a given free guide to bring home the experience.
