Lo gradireste un goccio di Vin Santo? (Would you like a drop of Vin Santo?)

Vin Santo is a fortified wine typical of the Tuscan tradition, produced from grapes left to dry after harvesting and normally consumed at the end of meals. In Montefollonico, a jewel village in the territory of Torrita di Siena, on the border between Valdichiana and Val d'Orcia, this production and its most convivial spirit are celebrated with an event entirely dedicated to it.

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April, in the streets of the historic center, a two-day event will be held, made up of guided and itinerant tastings, a market of typical local products, experiences in contact with the nature that surrounds the ancient castle of Montefollonico and fun activities for children.

Saturday 26th April
10 am, Historic center | Opening of the Borgo del Vin Santo and the local produce market
10 am, Triano Church | “The art of Vinsanto, history, production techniques and uniqueness” - Conference organized by I.I.S.S. “Angelo Vegni” – Le Capezzine.
11 am, Historic center | Opening of the Vin Santo tasting tours
3 pm, Gardens | Team treasure hunt
3 pm, Piazzetta dei Caduti | Local traditional game
8 pm, La Chiusa Restaurant | Dinner with dishes featuring Vin Santo. Award ceremony for the 19th “Best Homemade Vin Santo” competition and musical accompaniment by the Duo Alfa

Sunday 27th April
9 am, Torrita di Siena, Piazza Matteotti | Nature walk and MTB ride along the Vin Santo Trail organized by the Proloco of Torrita di Siena
10 am, Porta del Pianello Gate | Visit to the village of Montefollonico
11 am, Historic center | Opening of the Vin Santo tasting 
3 pm, Piazza Cinughi | Vin Santo barrel race (activity for children)
