Valdichiana On The Move
“Sorgente” by Laura Pannack is the diffused exhibition for Tuscany’s Capital of Culture
“Valdichiana On The Move”, the exhibition open until November 2, 2025, is one of the cultural projects of the Valdichiana2025 – Tuscany’s Capital of Culture program.
The exhibition, curated by the cultural association ONTHEMOVE and the Fondazione Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano on behalf of the Union of Municipalities of the Valdichiana Senese, is entrusted to the artistic sensitivity of British photographer Laura Pannack, who with the project “Sorgente” narrates through images the ten municipalities of the Valdichiana Senese.
Water is the guiding thread of Laura Pannack’s vision: a visible and invisible element that has shaped valleys, basins, and stones, leaving traces in the history and life of local communities. Through her photography, the artist explores how these places have changed, what they still preserve, and what connection ties those who walk or cycle across the territory today to its memory of water.
The photographic narrative unfolds along an itinerary that intertwines the Canale Maestro della Chiana, the Sentiero della Bonifica, the thermal springs of Chianciano Terme, and the sacred basins of San Casciano dei Bagni, investigating the profound relationship between the territory and its water.
