Ring Trail Sinalunga and Scrofiano

A surprising trail, which connects two villages of unexpected beauty, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. It starts from Piazza Garibaldi in Sinalunga and crosses its oldest part. From here, you have to take Via Umberto I, which continues under the name of Via dei Frati. On the paved road, you will get to the Sanctuary of San Bernardino or Madonna del Soccorso [Our Lady of Help], which houses valuable works of art.

Then, continue uphill on a dirt road to the Villa delle Carceri, a notable example of a patrician villa featuring a coat of arms and a private chapel. Turning left, you will descend to a stream; then, go up the other side up to Scrofiano, a small perfectly preserved medieval village from which you can enjoy a splendid view over the Valdichiana. From Scrofiano, you will take a downhill road, which then goes back to the Farm - Cellar La Farneta. On a white road, you will get to Giuncarelli. Then, you have to take again downhill; here pay attention, because you will cross wood paths that are no longer preserved. It will be therefore necessary a good dose of adaptation to the trail in the middle of a woodland, which here gains the upper hand again. Once you have found the road, you can easily go back to Sinalunga.
