Valdichiana Eating: bio market with the local producers

9 and 10 May in Cetona the 8th edition of the market

Valdichiana Eating is an event that celebrates short supply chains, local food and wine excellence, and quality certifications, with the awareness that one of the best ways to truly discover a territory is through its traditional flavors.

Each year, the market of local products and producers takes place in a different square across the Valdichiana. This year, local producers will welcome visitors in the historic center of Cetona on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10.

Producers from the Valdichiana and Val d’Orcia will be present over the two days of the event, showcasing their finest products.

DISFIDA CETONESE – Taste and vote for local dishes with Valdichiana Eating

On the occasion of the 8th edition of Valdichiana Eating, the Cetona Challenge is born: a special food event dedicated to the authentic flavors of the area.

From April 30 to May 10, restaurants, trattorias, osterias, inns, and agriturismi in Cetona will take part by presenting a dish made with typical local, zero-kilometre ingredients, such as aglione, extra virgin olive oil, and Chianina beef.

The public becomes both protagonist and jury: each participant can taste the dishes directly at the participating venues and vote for their favorite quickly and easily via QR Code.

Each dish will be associated with an identifying emoji: simply click on the emoji in the dedicated posts on Facebook or Instagram to cast your vote.

How to vote:

  • Voting will be open from Thursday, April 30 until 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 10
  • You can vote for only one dish per social media account
  • QR Codes will be available in participating venues and will link directly to the voting posts

Award ceremony:
The most-voted dish will be announced on Sunday, May 10 at 5:00 PM in Piazza Garibaldi during the event’s closing.

The winner will also be featured in a celebratory post on the official social media channels. Discover the participating venues and join the taste challenge!
