In such a rural area as the Valdichiana Senese, the safeguard of the environment and of the local communities is gaining an increasingly importance. Not by chance, our travel offers are expression of a philosophy whose goal is to enhance local peculiarities by means of tourism. To make the commitment on the territorial safeguard more concrete, Valdichiana Living has chosen to draft an environmental impact report. The document is meant to explain Valdichiana Living’s commitment towards environmental and social awareness, establishing targets to lead future activities.

Focus of the impact report

The environmental impact report will be developed in cooperation with Up2You as technical partner, and it will take into consideration the following aspects:

Impact over the environment
In partnership with Up2You and thanks to an interactive platform, an evaluation of Valdichiana Living’s direct and indirect CO2 emissions is currently on the making.

Local stakeholders’ recognition
In the report, the relationship with the Valdichiana Senese area will be deepened, with a particular focus on the teamwork with the local realities.

Mapping of the already undertaken safeguard activities
The touristic aware proposal of Valdichiana Living has a long story and the different ongoing projects are a proof of such dedication. Recently, the Valdichiana Senese has been between the first territories to join the CarTES project (The Charter for the Sustainable Food and Wine Tourist), a document thought to enable travellers to experience food and wine while respecting the environment, culture, and local communities.

The report will be an opportunity to sharpen travellers in Valdichiana Senese to adopt a more responsible approach during their stay.
